Draco Hill Nature Farm is located in central Cedar County, between Iowa City and Davenport. Here is where prairie meets river, native timber and working orchards.
Hike more than 4 miles of trails on 75 acres, past a pond to forests and prairie of different ages and among orchards. Taste samples from the farm, forage for wild berries or purchase Asian pears, honeyberries and chestnuts in season.
Make a weekend of your visit by camping along the river if you like. Listen to the coyotes and turkeys as you fall asleep and scores of birds when you wake up.
Check out the calendar of events each month including prairie walks, a community potluck, a mushroom foray and more!
Your experience awaits you, just 25 minutes from Iowa City, 40 from Davenport and 45 from Cedar Rapids!
Hikes and events are free unless otherwise noted. Sign up required for entry. Groups welcome.

Soil and prairie restoration, timber stand improvement, food production in orchards and gardens, shared with the public because it’s too beautiful to keep to ourselves.
Our waters were not always brown. Our only agriculture was not always corn, soybeans and hogs. This is living proof we can do better.

We’re always looking in the Spring and Fall. The best candidates love working outdoors, want to learn and can take clear direction well.
“ My sister and our husbands had a blast getting up to all sorts of shenanigans in the river very near our campsite and the Shrek style outhouses. Would recommend to anyone wanting to get out and cause some controlled mayhem.”
