What we do
Soil and prairie restoration, timber stand improvement, food production in orchards and gardens, then shared with the public because it’s all too beautiful to keep to ourselves.
Why we do it
Iowans have been conditioned to believe our waters will always be brown, our soils will always erode and our only viable agriculture is commodities like corn, soybeans and hogs. It doesn’t have to be this way. This is proof.
Your part
Attend free events all year long. Support this work with a freewill donation. Purchase food to take home. Share this project with friends.
Camping
Find Draco Hill on Hipcamp to reserve one of our 4 campsites near the Cedar River. Affordable, private, beautiful.
Groups
4-H, FFA, conservation groups, disability groups, farm groups, schools – you’re all welcome to come for a tour or spend some time here. Contact us about what you’d like your group to get out of the experience.
Volunteer opportunities
We’re always looking for help, especially in the Spring and Fall. The best candidates are used to working outdoors or willing to toughen up, want to learn and can take clear direction well.
“ My sister and our husbands had a blast getting up to all sorts of shenanigans in the river very near our campsite and the Shrek style outhouses. Would recommend to anyone wanting to get out and cause some controlled mayhem..”
