Last year’s drought caused a serious setback to feeding my mulberry addiction, but the weather this year has a bumper crop coming in at Draco Hill!
This was a second harvest, probably about 5 pounds. Whatever wasn’t frozen for smoothies later was turned into cobbler now thanks to my husband Paul.
But there are more to come. Our tree planting is practically ringed with mulberries, thanks to a fence that used to be there. (Birds eat the berries, sit on the fence and then you know…well…make another mountain…as the song goes.)
Our friends Emily and Rick are mulberry nuts so they’ve got dibs on the next harvest! Rick’s been known to make a mean cobbler too!

YUM!
Going to the inlaws this weekend and hope to pick from their tree.
MULBERRY PIE!!
What wonderful pictures. I’ve, for years, wanted to try a mulberry/rhubarb pie. They have such opposite sweetness characteristics that I think a good flavor might result.
Heading for Colorado in the morning with Rog and Connie–they’re going to a family reunion and I’m going to visit my sister.
Thanks for the help. I now see the faint “submit.”
