It must be spring, and I do believe the guineas have been listening at the door. Ever since Grant Schultz over at Versaland disabused us of the notion that guineas eat ticks, our birds have been facing a shortened life expectancy. But today when I went out to feed and water them, right there in the coop was their first egg!
Here’s the very exciting photo of it.
You can get a sense of its size, and as we’ve been told it is about 2/3 the size of a chicken egg.
So our guineas will live to see another day if we see more eggs that is! Otherwise, they’re headed over to Grant’s for his Advanced Farm and Homestead Design workshop with Ben Falk where attendees will learn how to process chickens!
