Burnin’ Down the House

It’s been a challenge to find good days for a prairie burn this season. It’s either too wet or too windy for semi-amateurs like us. We like it “just right.” Last night, with the encouragement of our WWOOFer Zoe who really wanted to experience a burn, we watched the weather until the wind dropped to under 10 mph. That meant we’d be burning in the dark, but like one friend told me, it’s better that way because you can see what’s still going. We had a good time and Zoe did so well her first time out!

Be sure to turn up the sound to hear the fire.
